5 Predictions For The 2010 MLB Season!

It's that time again... Spring training has already started. Pitchers are competing for a spot in the rotation, McGuire is smuggling the new high-grade steroids into the country and umpires are being air-lifted out of their La-Z Boy recliners! That's right, the 2010 Baseball season is almost here!

So here's my predictions for this year:

  • The Phillies are gonna regret getting rid of the only guy that actually did anything in the World Series last year
  • The Red Sox will win... puppies will die.
  • And their fans will be just as annoying (if not more annoying) as always.
  • The Cubs will never win the World Series... this year included.
  • The Cardinals will miss Kurt Warner
  • Sorry, wrong sport
  • The National League still sucks. Ironically, it's because they don't have a DH rule.
  • The Yankees will win the Series again.
  • All the cry-babies will whine about how the Yankees just "buy" their titles... as if we're supposed to just give them out to everybody like Little League trophies.

Red Sox Fan Fails to Curse Yankees

I have to mention this story about a Red Sox fan who was a construction worker on the new Yankees Stadium (here is a nice painting of what the field will look like).

I think it's kinda funny. I don't know what the mindset is of somebody who thinks burying a jersey in the stadium's concret will somehow make the team play bad. But at the same time, I have to point out that David Ortiz has been in a slump to start the year off. That's rellavent because the jersey the guy used was an Ortiz jersey.

Did this guy inadvertantly curse his own team's best player? I don't know, but only time will tell. In the meantime, we can always hope, can't we?

Opening Day

The new season of MLB officially opened today. (That stuff about the Red Sox doesn't count)

President Bush threw out the first pitch for the Washington Nationals first game in their new stadium and the Yankees game was postponed due to rain. This could be the worst day in the history of Baseball. :)

Hopefully tomorrow will work out better for the Yankees. This is an historical season for New York. The legendary stadium is gonna be BLOWN UP after this season and the team moves next door to a brand new facility that looks almost the exact same next year! (of course, with several upgrades and features... kinda like Vista)

So lets hope this season is a great send off for what John Kruk (who was supposed to call the game for ESPN) called the greatest sports arena in the world. Of course, by that I mean WORLD SERIES TITLE!
