I just saw this on GateWorld. I wasn't really looking forward to this Stargate movie as much as 'Ark of Truth' but the long I have to wait, the more impatient I get, I find myself getting more and more excited about it.
The trailer doesn't really show much. Most of what is shown passes by before you get a chance to take it in. There's several shots of Gua'uld Ha'tak Vessels (Motherships) and at least one Al'Kesh (Mid-range bomber) I'm sure there's probably some Tel'Taks (Gua'uld crargo ships - Althought I don't know what use they'd be) and some DeathGliders (Gua'uld Fighters). It's almost ominous to thing there aren't any Tau'Ri (Earth) ships. No 302s or any sign of the Odyssey, or the Deadalus or Apollo for that matter.
There's a shot of Ba'al talking to O'Niell (2 Ls) a few shots of fighter jets and a shot of Teal'C sporting the Jaffa armor (that may be a lot different than the normal armor he wore in the series) as he fires a staff weapon.
It may be just a teaser trailer but it's still pretty damn exciting. Especially for somebody like me that watches his seasons 1-10 DvDs all the f*cking time. Hopefully they'll have some longer trailers to show in the next month or so before the straight to DvD movie is released on July 29. In the meantime, go check out Gateworld.com, and make sure you check the forums area. I'm there a lot posting as ShanBruceLee (for obvious reasons...)

Alien Show - The Missing Page
This is installment #39 of 'Alien Show' that I had uploaded Thursday Night and went live on Friday. As I said in the previous post, the WCN website went down Friday and when they got it back up on Saturday a lot of the creaters had lost their updates. This is one of the pages I lost. The reason I'm reposting it here is because I FINALLY hit the f*cking nail on the ehad in my weekly "Box Office Challenge" segment between Bob and B3N.
Well maybe it's not a perfect prediction, but I had 'Harold & Kumar' making $15 million and 'Baby Mama' making $20 million. According to MoviePhone.com, Harold & Kumar' actually made $14.6 million and 'Baby Mama' made $18.3 million.
That's pretty damn close.

Webcomics Nation
WebcomicsNation.com went down yesterday and many of the creators lost their updates dating back to April 1 including myself. When they finally got the site back up this afternoon I was still missing a few of my most recent updates so tomorrow's 'Shan and Shanny' will be the page that should have went live last Thursday and 'Alien Show' will be the installment that should have gone live today. From here on, things should be fine. So PLEASE go check my sh*t out and let's hope I don't lose a huge chunk of my readers because there hasn't been anything new or because they couldn't load the site.
Read More......Howard Smokes Up
Josh Howard was on the Michael Irvin Show Friday morning talking about smoking marijuana. Every sports show, sports channel and sports website is talking about it now because of the stigma that Americans have about smoking marijuana and because of that it must be a bad thing.
Who gives a fuck?
I don't. It's just marijuana. He's just a basketball player. It's not like he's performing brain surgery or anything. There's no mission to Mars that depends specifically on a clear-headed Josh Howard. So what's the big deal? Who is it gonna hurt? How many people have suffered already because of Josh Howard's terrible marijuana abuse?
Then again, maybe if he wasn't smoking dope all the time he'd have put up better numbers last night than 3-11 from the field. Oh wait a minute... he said he smokes in the off-season! So he wasn't high last night! Well in that case, maybe he should've smoked a joint before the game! You know, roll a blunt and get a triple-double! Who knows! Nobody does because he's not doing it during the season.
There's something Michael Irvin addressed specifically in the interview. He mentioned his own drug use (during his career that is) and mentioned that he rationalised it by saying to himself it's only during the off-season. It's worth pointing out that Michael Irvin is in the Football Hall Of Fame. And he was doing a lot worst than just marijuana.
Howard also pointed out that this is something that's not exactly unprecedented in the NBA (meaning an unspecified - but probably large - number of players do it) Is he trying to throw these other players under the bus? Or draw attention away from himself? No. If that were the case he wouldn't have even brought it up in the first place.
Having said all of that, I could have ended this post on the most important part and said "Game Over": "How many people have suffered because Josh Howard smokes marijuana?" Nobody. At least not until people found out and starting making a huge deal out of it.
Thank you and Goodnight.

Interesting Website
I found this website on StumbleUpon. Talk about getting straight to the point. I love it.
Read More......Alien Show Update
Just wanted to give anybody that hasn't already seen today's update of 'The Alien Show' a reminder to check it out. I'm introducing a new character (above picture) called Kimbolasious Kalypsa-Jor-Phi-Raidion. He's a "Gray." For those of you that don't know what that is, check out this video about crazy people...

Webcomics Nation's 'Today's Most Popular' List
Despite the fact that I wasn't able to update the latest installment of Shan and Shanny in time to go live immediately after midnight (as I usually do) the comic still managed to have enough hits (page views) to be #10 on Webcomicsnation.com's Popular/New Today list for the first few hours.
It's almost guaranteed to fall out of that list before the end of the day (if not in the next few hours) but this is still a good sign for me. Don't worry, the more this happens, the more I'll be sure to over-extend my enthusiasm and unwarranted self-righteousness. So be sure to check back later for that.
Until then, have a safe and work-free Sunday afternoon. (Unless you have to work)

Spurs Take Game One
Yesterday I wrote an article about the Suns/Spurs playoff series in which I said the hype alone had already made it one of the most memerable NBA playoff series of all time. Game 1 is over now and not only was I right, but this match up is already living up to that hype.... read the rest of this article here.

Good Weather
In this post on Monday I talked about the bad weather. Go read it it's funny. Back yet? Good because this is a follow-up to that little rant.
In that post I demanded that the weather warm up to at least 80 degrees before the end of this week. Well I must be one ferocious mother f*cker because with a whole two days left in the week the temperature topped out at 79 degrees today! (79 is close enuogh... for now) It was a nice day and I spent most of it outside thinking about what to write on my new sports blog.
For my next trick, I'm thinking about demanding that a ton of money either grow on a tree or fall out of the sky... I'll keep you posted.
Thank you and goodnight!

Yankees Vs Red Sox
After Posada knocked in both Jeter and A-Rod, the Yankees managed two more runs pushing Timlin's ERA from an admirrable 20.25 up to a disgraceful 27.00!
It was the best day ever.
Thank you and Goodnight.

YouTube Divorce is Not Important.
Tricia Walsh Smith is apperantely some G.I.L.F. from London that put a video on YouTube of herself talking about her "nasty" divorce. She starts off crying about how life's not fair because she can't get all of her husband's money now that he's kicking her out. After a few minutes of that she starts airing his business by mentioning his viagra, condems and porn. Then she goes on another rant about how they don't have sex. Finally, they all die and the world lives happily ever after. (In her defense, she is really hott for a Granny)
This isn't a news story. You see and hear people talking about this all the time. Some unimportant little story gets a little attention and all of a sudden it's everywhere and everybody wants to talk about it. Hell, I'm talking about it right now! The difference is, I'm talking about this story because it's #1 on Google Trends.
Why is this the number 1 searched item on Google Trends? Because the minute this video went up, people started watching and and it got a few hits. Next, it shows up on a few bookmark sites. Pay attention because this is where the world goes to hell. People start seeing a trendy story and latch on. They want hits on their blogs so they jump at the first sign of a big trendy story.
This garbage even jumped ahead of the #2 item on Google Trends, some boring story about WILDFIRES IN COLORADO! and this story about one of the survivors of the Va Tech shooting that happened just one year ago today. The really sad thing is that the name Jackie Robinson isn't even in the Top 20. By the way, how Corbin Bernsen got on this list is anybody's guess.
What does this say about the internet, Google Trends or all of civilization? We've become so obsessed with drawing attention to ourselves and our blogs, websites, and our YouTube videos that we've stopped caring about the really important sh*t. Example? The above blog entry.
Thank you and Goodnight!

This is just a short video clip of my recent webcomic installments with music. The first one is from YouTube, the second is from MySpace. For some reason, the MySpace version is higher quality. Especially in full screen. The YouTube version is just hard to read.
Read More......Jackie Robinson Day
I don't have a lot to say about this. I just wanted to link to this article about Jackie Robinson Day. Bauman says Jackie Robinson Day should be a national holiday. I think he's right. There's no reason why MLB should be the only arena (or 15 arenas if you wanna be literal) where his legacy is celebrated. Sports are such an important part of American culture that there's no reason that the unarguably biggest moment in sports history shouldn't be celebrated that much more than it already is.

Red Sox Fan Fails to Curse Yankees
I have to mention this story about a Red Sox fan who was a construction worker on the new Yankees Stadium (here is a nice painting of what the field will look like).
I think it's kinda funny. I don't know what the mindset is of somebody who thinks burying a jersey in the stadium's concret will somehow make the team play bad. But at the same time, I have to point out that David Ortiz has been in a slump to start the year off. That's rellavent because the jersey the guy used was an Ortiz jersey.
Did this guy inadvertantly curse his own team's best player? I don't know, but only time will tell. In the meantime, we can always hope, can't we?
Bad Weather
In case you didn't know, I live in Roanoke Virginia. It's April 14 today and it's 47 degrees outside! It's f*cking cold! I hate cold weather. I love summer. I love sitting outside listening to ESPN radio when it's 90 degrees out. I hate cold weather.
So I'm demanding that the cold weather stop immediately! This is not debatable. Cold weather sucks and nobody likes it. Do you hear me cold weather? Nobody likes you! Get the f*ck out! I demand that the temperature rise to at least 80 degrees before the end of this week.
That's all. Thank you and goodnight.
Special Preview
If you look at Shan's design (left) and compare it to the image in this blog's archives titled 'Superhero' (in February) you'll notice the design is almost exactly the same. The only thing added here is the cape.
Super-Shan is supposed to look like the archetype of the "great hero" while Shan-Man (right) is the archetype of the darker heroes. I gave him the little bandana mask to symbolize the sorta outlaw vigelante. I really like it.
This is also the image used in the 50th installment of Shan and Shanny which will be live just after midnight tonight (probably 1:00am)

Countdown to Armageddon
I just watched this documentary called Countdown to Armageddon on the history channel that talks about all these signs that the apocalypse is near. It's fun to watch but at the same time it's a little silly to be honest. But after watching it I started looking around the internet and found a bunch of sites that talk about the same themes.
This site has an interesting FAQ section that talks about planetary alignment within the Solar System that occured in 2000. Unfortunately, they haven't updated their site since around the time that most of their predictions didn't happen.
This one claims America will fall in 2008. Only 8 and 1/2 months to go, folks! Dress warm.
And this site came up in a search for "Countdown to Armageddon" It's a fun site. I learned I'll die on March 7th 2064. That gives me just under 56 years. Make the most of the time you have, folks!
This site sums it up nicely.

Shan and Shanny updates
I've got a new disign for Megagocles that'll hopefully be in tomorrow's update. I've got it drawn and ready to ink. I was originally gonna introduce the new superhero costumes for Shan and Shanny but I decided to wait until Tuesday to do that because that's the 50th installment!
I've been wanting to go in depth with the Megagocles character for a while but wasn't sure where it was all gonna fit. Trying to decide which of the big villains to introduce first was hard to do so I figured I'd bring them both in together and start a kind of oneupsmanship between them. You'll see what I mean tomorrow :)

My T-Shirts
As some of you may know (and apparently most of you don't) I've started designing t-shirts lately. Right now I've got two designs on just a few items. One is the image of Don from my webcomic 'Shan and Shanny' in his purple pimp suit. The other is a picture of Shanny Boy's starship flying around the sun. I've hesitated to put more designs up because I'm seriously considering a change in the 'Shan and Shanny' webcomic's name (which I've already done with 'The Alien Show' which started out as 'The Alien Review')
'Shan and Shanny' doesn't have a good ring to it. And before I get into seriously designing new gear for the series, I've gotta be sure that I'll be selling stuff that's gonna be relavent a year from now (or even a month)
But in the meantime, I'll be designing some other stuff unrelated to my current webcomics. I'll update everybody when that happens. Some ideas I've considered are "stand-alone" strips from an upcoming stick figure series I'm working on in my spare time right now. (More on that later too)
If anybody has any suggestions for merchandise they'd like to see feel free to send me a message and let me know.
Shan and Shanny
Today's update for 'Shan and Shanny' is a little bit bigger than usual. There was more stuff that I wanted to do and even though I really could have gotten as many as three updates out of what's there, I wanted to get this done now so I could bring in the new surprises a little sooner.
Basically, Dr. Diabolical is in control of just about everything now. He's even got control of the narrative captions. And what's up with FIX News all but openly supporting Dr. Diabolical? Does he have control of them too? Well no, they're just really evil. Almost as evil as he is!

March Sadness
I couldn't have been more wrong about the Final Four than I was this year. In an unfortunate turn of events, Kansas, after upseting my favorite (UNC) in an unimaginable fashion, came back two days later and did nearly the exact same thing to Memphis.
I originally had UNC beating Memphis in the finals. That's still what I think should have happened. But I was wrong and Kansas somehow pulled it out.
They were making a big deal out of Roy Williams sitting in the stands wearing a Kansas sticker on his sweater during the game on 'Mike and Mike' this morning. For whatever reason, some people didn't like it. I thought it was a respectful thing for him to do and I probably wouldn't have been that respectful if it were me. Mike and Mike didn't seem to care about it. Probably because they know it's not a big deal.
Back to the game. There's a lot of talk about the mistakes Memphis made at the end of regulation; "Should they have fouled?" "Should they have called a timeout?" etc. None of that matters. The thing that does matter is the free-throws they missed in the last seconds. That's right, with less than 20 seconds to go, Memphis missed three of four free-throws, including two from Chris Douglas-Roberts and Derrick Rose, that would have ended it right there. No overtime. No Kansas win.
It's about fundamentals, kids. Maybe Calipari will spend more practice time next year working on free-throws and they'll make a comeback next season. But that doesn't really matter now because I'm calling it right now... that's right, North Carolina wins it all next year.

Final Four II
BSG Season 4
I saw the season premiere of Battlestar Galactica last night. It was good but I'm not sure if I'm gonna be able to watch Starbuck throwing a temper tantrum all season. And there was a lot of that in the season 4 teasers I've seen and espescially the preview for next week.
I'm still disappointed Tigh's a Cylon but Hogan is awesome so he could probably pull it off. I feel kinda cheated that the scene of him pulling his gun on Adama was just an "imagination"
I don't know what was up with Anders in the Viper, but they set themselves up because now they've gotta explain it if they ever wanna have another combat sequence ever again.

Final Four
It's almost time for the Final four! For the first time since the advent of seeding, all four #1 seeds have made it to the Final Four, including my favorite team North Carolina!
UNC v Kansas
Carolina coach Roy Williams faces his former team. Sounds like a big deal... but it's not. Not to me anyway. I don't give a f*ck where he used to coach, he's at Carolina now (and thank Buddah for that!)
I'll admit that I haven't followed Kansas much but, from what I've seen, I just don't see how they can beat UNC. Everybody wants to say it's gonna be a close game but they're wrong and I'm right! Hansbrough and Lawson are too good. They're too good for anybody, which is why I picked them to win it all before the season even began. (Technically, I pick them every year but w/e)
Memphis v UCLA
F*ck UCLA. I don't really care how many times they've been to the Final Four the last few years. That doesn't mean sh*t. Memphis, on the other hand, isn't sh*t either. But after watching the first two rounds of the tournament, I made the prediction that UNC would have to face them in the championship and I'm sticking by that prediction.
My final score?
N. Carolina - 87
Memphis - 83

A Day In The Life
I kicked off the updates to 'Shan and Shanny' that I was talking about the other day. The first one was subtle. The next one is a new character design for Shanny. Well actually it's just a new haircut but he looks totally different.
Getting into next week, you'll all see the new "superhero" costumes I was talking about and hopefully the new starfighter design.
I started designing a few T-Shirts based on my three comic series. I'll add a link to the "My Sites" section once I've got a few more items listed. There's some buttons and stickers already up too. You just gotta scroll down to see them.
Last thing today... The f*cking Yankees lost :( It was the worst day ever. But A-Rod hit a 2-run shot which puts him on pace to hit 81 :p
Thank you and goodnight!

Shan and Shanny updates
I've got some changes coming up in the next couple of updates for 'Shan and Shanny'
First off, the boys get some new "superhero" costumes. If you've been keeping up with the comic you've seen the introduction of Megagocles and, in Tuesday's update, Doctor Diabolical. But there isn't anyone to fight them... well there wasn't anyway. But now Shan and Shanny will become Shan-Man and Super-Shan. Technically, Super-Shan has already been seen but now he's getting a new costume.
I'm also working on a new re-design of Shanny's starfighter. It will probably be seen first on one of the new t-shirts I'm currently designing (more on that some other time) because I don't have the place to put it in the story figured out yet.
There's some other stuff I'm working on but I won't talk about it until I get it all straightened out a little.
